Ceramics at the Shore – exhibition

  • by

Haven’t posted here for a while, but I have been busy working away on various creative things. The teaching schedule at the studio as usual has been busy but its gradually winding down for the short summer break. During which time – we will be having our second studio exhibition as part of the Edinburgh Fringe! This will include brand new pieces, both in ceramic and print. More details here.

Its been a slow and gradual process, but I’ve been focusing on refining my lino cutting skills, testing out inks and papers. Buying a lovely tabletop press from Pooki presses has make a huge difference to printing.

I’ve got various flattened vases in progress. These are handbuilt in black clay, with layers of slips including stencilled images and sprigged sections. Richly coloured glazes are being added, and finally decals made from my photos. This work is inspired by my holiday to Portugal earlier this year. As yet this project is untitled, but sure it will have a name by the time the exhibition is up!
